- BACKTALK.COM 11904 03-21-88 BackTalk (Trimble, Timothy; $0) displays an

- CLAUDE.EXE 87941 01-20-92 Claude 1.1 (McLaughlin, Brian; $5) lets you
- | carry on a conversation with your computer.
- | We were going to classify this as Artificial
- | Intelligence, but it is short on
- | Intelligence (rarely responds directly to
- | your questions) and long on Artificial (it
- | generates random comments). Young computer
- | novices might enjoy it, however.
- CPROMPT.COM 9077 09-13-89 CPrompt this gag file is one that you can
- | add to a friend's (or enemies) AUTOEXEC.BAT.

- | to make your friends think you can tap into
- | an FBI computer and scan people's records.
- BB_FUN.COM 56843 03-20-90 Bytebrothers Fun (the Bytebrothers; $0)
- | This is a collection of pointless, tasteless
- | programs (that a lot of people seem to
- | like): an obscene sorted directory lister; a
- | funny headline generator; a "spoofy virus
- | checker". We have archived them all into one
- | set so as to offend as few people as
- | possible as quickly as possible.
- HELPME.COM 30208 10-23-87 HelpMe digitized speech crying "Help! I'm

- | are in for a pretty good laugh.
- SHAKEIT.COM 17004 04-23-90 ShakeIt (Julius, Tab; $0) is a fun little
- | 18k TSR program that causes the screen to
- | shake after a user-defined number of
- | keystrokes. The user (or should we say
- | perpetrator?) can also specify a number of
- | keystrokes that the effect should last, so
- | the unsuspecting victim will be typing
- | along, get the shakes, and then have them
- | mysteriously quit.
- SNAFU2.COM 48477 01-03-90 Snafu 2.0 (Dowst, Ken; $0) is a practical
- | joke that may be too much for some people's
- | sensitivities in this day of virus panic. If
- | you are offended by the sight of screaming,
- | fainting co-workers, don't get this program.
- SNOOP.EXE 40491 03-20-92 Snoop 1.0 (Cohn, Andrew M.; $10) offers up a

- | $?) is a combination "look-busy" and
- | practical joke program. As a look-busy, you
- | can run this program and go to sleep sitting
- | up at your desk, confident in the knowledge

- | think you are hard at work. Or put it on a
- | friend's computer when he goes for coffee
- | and watch his reaction when he sees "bugs in
- | DOS" being "patched".
- WPFAKE.EXE 16528 04-16-92 WPFake (Sewell, David; $0) is a practical
- | joke program that appears to be WordPerfect
- | 5.1, but no matter what the victim types,
- | the text that prints to screen is text you
- | have selected beforehand.

- | speaker. You can play back any of the jokes,
- | songs and sound effects, and create your own

- COMEDY2.EXE 223710 03-24-92 See above.
- CURSES.ZIP 684603 11-19-93 Curses! 2.3 (R. K. West Consulting ASP; $10)

- | is entered, it will blurt out comments
- | periodically anyway.

- | $0) will help you come up with such
- | impressive phrases as: "User-Friendly
- | Desktop Utility", "Integrated Artificial

- | Recursive Analysis", and of course,
- | "Comprehensive On-Line Infostructure". Think
- | of how glib and impressive your new-found
- | vocabulary will seem!
- INQMIND.COM 14730 09-13-89 Inquiring Minds selects random phrases from
- | the text file to produce headlines such as
- | one might see on "National Inquirer". This
- | is an interesting program, and the text file
- | can be completely altered to your taste to
- | produce anthing from poems to snappy
- | comebacks. Included is the original source
- | code in C.
- WHABUSE.EXE 31565 10-16-91 WhAbuse (Howell, W; $0) displays random
- | humorous and abusive messages. C source is
- | included.
- ZAPPO.COM 6162 03-25-90 Zappo (Green, Phil; $0) is a 1k TSR that
- | turns your keyboard into a
- | grenade/phaser/machine-gun sound generator.
- | We were prepared not to like this, but it's
- | actually kinda fun. If someone trots into
- | your office and gives you a hard time, "arm"
- | your phasers by pressing the ScrollLock key
- | and being firing away. Different weapon
- | sounds are generated by different keys.
- BOSS_SW.COM 13490 05-14-90 Boss_SW (Graham, Keith P.; $0) is a TSR

- | comprehensive.
- HAW.EXE 100030 02-16-93 Hard at Work 1.3 (R. K. West Consulting ASP;
- | $0) is one of the best "look busy" programs
- | yet. (These are programs that make your
- | computer look like you are "Hard at Work"
- | when you are really asleep with your eyes
- | open.) Reading a romance novel when the boss
- | walks in? Just tell him that you are waiting
- | for the computer to finish one of the many
- | different tasks the program can emulate. One
- | screen looks like Norton's hard disk
- | defragger. Another looks like Lotus 1-2-3
- | crunching numbers, and so on.
- HOTLOT.COM 19662 09-14-89 HotLot is a resident utility that will pop a
- | realistic looking 1-2-3 template onto your

- | shoot-em-up game for one player or for two
- | players on two computers connected by an
- | RS-232 cable or by modems. The purpose of

- | spaceship. Linewars will work on CGA, but
- | the graphics are much more impressive on EGA
- | compatible video.
- TELECRD.EXE 78729 05-09-91 TeleCards 1.0 (Kohler, Kevin T.; $20) allows
- | you to play card games over the telephone.

- | at moving trains). Message capabilities
- | allow you to taunt and jeer at your opponent
- | in the true spirit of athletic competition.
- ATCSIM.ZIP 104628 11-20-93 Air Traffic Control Simulation (Leung,
- | Francis Yan Keung; $20) gives you the job of
- | air traffic controller. Features include
- | support for CGA 320 x 200 x 4 colors mode, 6
- | levels, command to take up heading, command
- | line parameter to specify graphics mode and
- | card, variable wind effects, a "Hall of
- | Fame" with the top 10 scores, and 4 types of
- | emergency situations. It allows you to
- | change speed in demo state, and break out of
- | (to abort) an approach.
- ATCGAME.ZIP 50566 10-21-93 ATC-Game 1.0 (Eddy Van de Winckel, reg. fee:
- | $40) is an Air Traffic Control simulation.
- | You are in charge of the terminal area of a

- | maintaining sufficient separation between
- | aircrafts.
- DULLES.ZIP 82629 11-23-93 Dulles Tower (McKeown, John; $any) is an Air
- | Traffic Control simulator that provides a
- | realistic representation of the
- | responsibilities incurred while working in a
- | real airport control tower. This does not
- | have a lot of slick graphics that might
- | appeal to the casual game player; we suspect
- | that you have to really be into aviation to
- | appreciate this program.
- CORNCOB.EXE 355534 03-20-93 Corncob 3-D 3.42 (Stokes, Kevin ASP; $18) is
- | an air combat game that puts you in the
- | cockpit of a piston engined aircraft. It
- | features scrolling 3-D graphics similar to
- | Flight Simulator. In addition to the normal
- | flying and shooting scenarios, you may have
- | to land the plane to plant bombs in enemy
- | territory; land on an airstrip suspended at
- | 20,000 feet, or fly through a narrow
- | corridor to shoot at a generator orb. If you
- | fly past the mission you did yesterday, you
- | will see the burning wreckage. It has
- | realistic flight model based on physics of
- | aerodynamic flight. The plane can sideslip,
- | high speed stall, or fall backwards. Due to
- | the realistic landing model, landing a
- | heavily damaged plane can be exciting.
- | Mastering the flight controls may take a
- | little time. Requires 12Mhz or faster, VGA
- | color monitor, and 520K memory. A hard disk
- | and joystick are recommended.
- FSPRO.ZIP 188430 12-07-93 FS-Pro (Lincoln, Joe; $2) will help track
- | and edit all of the different MODES that can
- | be created using the Microsoft Flight
- | Simulator III program. Since you cannot
- | write any files that can be immediately
- | imported by Flight Simulator, you keep a
- | list of small files that is called
- | ADVENTURES which have the same name as the
- | MODE except for a different DOS extension.
- | With this series, FSPRO becomes your main
- | menu to access other modules, such as the
- | Airport Directory included on this disk.
- MIRAMAR.ZIP 82770 11-20-93 Miramar (Cochran, Marc; $10) is a fully
- | operational Jet Combat Simulator. It does
- | not have scenery (unless you end up at the
- | bottom of the ocean). Instead, it is
- | oriented towards instrument flying and
- | dogfighting. There is no doc file. Be sure
- | to have NumLock and CapsLock on before you
- | start. Don't touch the keyboard until the
- | first screen full of text comes up, then
- | enter I for Instructions. Even then, all it
- | tells you is what keys to use. The farthest
- | we were able to get the plane off the
- | aircraft carrier was the bottom of the ocean.
- ANIM_MEM.ZIP 248372 03-26-93 Animated Memory Game 1.0 (Guthery, Tom IV;

- | Requires a minimum of 512K (640K is

- ALFIE.COM 17690 02-24-90 Alfie 1.0 (Baser, Barbara L.; $8) generates

- | Interesting EGA color graphics.
